“So excited” – huge news for Vanessa Hudgens!

High School Musical star Vanessa Hudgens has a lot to look forward to in terms of her career, as after a four week try out at the Kennedy Center in Washington DC, she has been cast in the lead role of a Broadway production.

Gigi is a musical romantic comedy which was based on a novel from 1945, and Vanessa’s role as Gigi was previously filled by the one and only Audrey Hepburn – so she’s got a lot to live up to!

The young star was delighted when she got cast as Gigi: “I was, like, screaming in the car. I called my mom; I called my dad. I could not believe it.”

She also took to Twitter to express her excitement, saying: "So excited to play Gigi in @GigiOnBroadway! I hope y'all will have a chance to see me in it when we open at @kenchen!!"
