Singer proves that imitation is the best form of flattery
While many stars have been inspired by Marilyn Monroe in their careers, Britney Spears proved that her admiration for the bombshell blonde goes far beyond theirs.
Channelling her idol in a recent Instagram photo, the singer was pictured in a grey jumper, with platinum blonde hair tied in a tight knot. The Hit Me Baby One More Time singer appeared to be writing a verse for a new song.
Accompanying the pictures, was a little message from Britney herself: “Sometimes you just wanna go old school and WRITE instead of type:) Who else agrees?! #IAmBritneyJean #BehindTheScenes #ITypedThis.”

The 32-year-old star is the ultimate Monroe fan, admitting to insisting there’s at least one of the late actress’ films in every hotel she visits.
A reliable source revealed that the pop singer carries books of Marilyn Monroe with her wherever she goes, and often visit’s her gravestone when she is in Los Angeles.
Even music guru L.A. Reid – who sat on The X Factor US judging panel with Britney – has picked up on her obsession. He noted the similarities between the two troubled stars, saying Britney and Marilyn share “the same magic”.
“People go crazy for Beyonce Knowles and Jay-Z. I’ve seen them go crazy for Rihanna. But this? Britney has the same magic that made Marilyn Monroe famous, that intangible ability to be completely loved and for people to be completely consumed by her everything.”
