Selena Gomez had the BEST comeback for this weight shamer

Selena Gomez has been taking a lot of criticism lately, but she's been handing it with complete class like a pro.

The negativity began when the singer was pictured in a bikini while on the beach in Mexico with friends.

Despite Selena's enviable figure, some cruel online commenters were quick to focus on the fact that the 22-year-old was looking slightly curvier than usual.

At the time, Selena responded by posting a picture of herself looking incredible with a one-piece with the caption, "I love being happy with me yall #theresmoretolove."  However after another round of negative comments, the singer decided to respond directly to the source.

The drama started when an Instagram user named @laurenlv94 commented on  one of Selena's pictures, saying, "mmm… @selenagomez you need to work out! Please stop eating junk food." She continued by adding, "in the business sadly the image its important."

Other users got in on the argument before Selena stepped in with a few firm words of her own.

"@laurenlv94 you're disgusting," she wrote. "I'm IN the business and I could care less about what 'they' or you say I should look like. I don't need to do anything other than love myself, take care of my work, fans, family and friends…. And I do work out. It's not your place to tell anyone what they should or shouldn't do."

Amazing. Selena then asked for the user to be blocked, and the account has since been made private.

A number of celebrities have spoken up in support of Selena, in particular Little Miss Sunshine star Abigail Breslin, who took to Tumblr to express her outrage.

"All this stuff about Selena Gomez online in her bathing suit is RIDICULOUS,” she wrote. “Everyone is always saying how we shouldn’t judge each other, so why are you commenting on a gorgeous, talented and smart young girls body when she’s on the beach having fun with her friends AND SHE LOOKS AMAZING. Aren’t there more important things the world can be reporting on??”

We're glad to see the cruel comments are not being ignored.
