No JOKE! Norway is giving Finland a mountain as a birthday present

Do you have a friend that is just impossible to buy for? Listen, we have all been there… including Norway (yes, the country). 

The glorious country of Finland is celebrating its 100th birthday this year, and Norway wants to give a very special gift in celebration. 

The Scandinavian neighbour wants to give Finland a mountain… yes, a mountain. 

Mount Halti lies on the border of Norway and Finland, but the mountain belongs to Noway at present. 

However, a group of Norwegians began a campaign to give the peak of the mountain to Finland for its centenary, by moving the border between the two countries by 200 metres.

What a nice gesture. 

Apparently, the moving of the border is stirring up constitutional issues in Norway, so the mountain gift PROBABLY won't happen.
