#LoveWins: Irish company create online tool that filters homophobia

by

A free tool to combat online homophobia and hate speech will be launched by Irish company, Connector, tomorrow, Monday (June 19) at 9.30am.

This online feature, called #LoveWins, will help block out any homophobic and transphobic content online.

Connector is a fast moving tech start-up which fearlessly approaches creativity in the world of social media.

To coincide with the launch of the tool, Connector will highlight statistics on the level of online bullying and harassment experienced by members of the LGBT+ community.

Commenting in advance of tomorrow’s launch, Ivan Adriel, Connector’s Head of Digital, said: “Connector is a proud supporter of the LGBT community and, this Pride, we wanted to do something to help make the Internet a better place for us all.

"So we created the tool we wished had existed when we were teenagers searching for our identity online.”

We think that this tool could be the start of immense change in Ireland.
