Lea Michele is looking forward to the new year

It looks like Lea Michele is ready to take 2014 head on.

The actress had a very rough 2013 after her Glee co-star and boyfriend, Cory Monteith, died from an overdose in July. The 27-year-old decided to end the year by taking a relaxing Christmas break in Mexico with her friend Jonathan Groff and it seems to have gone a long way in helping the healing process.

The star posted a photo of herself on her Instagram account looking tanned and relaxed as she enjoyed the Mexican sunshine. She captioned the photo: “What an amazing week in Mexico… New day. New year. #Bringit2014.”

She has previously admitted that while it has only been a few months since Cory’s death she believes that “there is an empowerment that comes with grief – at some point you find it. It’s very hard but you will find it, and I think at a certain point you can choose to sort of fall from this or you can choose to rise.”

It really is great to see Lea heading in such a positive direction and so determined to live life to the fullest.
