Cosmetic fillers are way more trouble than they’re worth

Up until now, the cosmetic procedures used to remove wrinkles have had temporary side effects. However, new research shows that cosmetic fillers can now cause irreversible damage.

U.S scientist found that injections of fat and collagen into the forehead can lead to permanent blindness when fillers get into the blood vessels.

According to Dr. Michelle Carle from Los Angeles, complication during a procedure like this is very rare, but also ‘very significant’.

Dr Carle and her team studied three cases of patients who were left with impaired vision after treatment. In these cases, the injections interfered with the blood supply to the patients’ eye artery.

“We recommend that blindness or significant visual loss be added as a risk when discussing these procedures with patients, because these are devastating consequences,” she said.

There are also reports of patience suffering a stroke and even dying after cosmetic procedures.
