Body found believed to be that of missing actress

Police in Washington have discovered a body which they believe could be missing actress Misty Upham.

32-year-old Misty was reported missing by her family almost two weeks ago.

Last night a search party discovered the body at the bottom of a ravine in the White River area. Although it has yet to be formally identified, the search party also reportedly found the actress' purse nearby.

A police spokesman told a local paper that there was "good chance" the body was Misty's.

Misty's August: Osage County co-star Meryl Streep commented on the tragic incident saying, "So so sad to hear this news – all our thoughts are with her family and her beautiful spirit."

The actress, best known for her role in Frozen River, had previously battled with mental illness. Her father mentioned to police that a recent change in medication had left her struggling with depression and panic attacks, but he later said he didn't think she would have taken her own life.

"I feel that she has been hurt by accident or someone has put her in harm's way… Misty has suffered from mental illness most of her life. With the help of her medical team and family support she is able to manage it well," he said.

Misty had recently moved to the Washington area to care for her father who had suffered a stroke.
